Apple Serves Up iOS 18.5 Rainbow Blast

Apple released iOS 18.5 for iPhones after more than a month of beta testing. Users can install this free update on all compatible iPhone models right away. The update brings several new features, like Pride wallpapers. iPad users can also download iPadOS 18.5 through the same method as iPhone users.

Anyone can download these updates without a developer account. Just open Settings, tap General, select Software Update, and install the latest version on your device. Though smaller than iOS 18.4, version 18.5 adds useful changes. Apple plans to release a few more updates before launching iOS 19.

The update adds a Pride Harmony wallpaper and sends parents alerts when someone uses their child's Screen Time passcode on their device. Users can buy content with an iPhone when using the Apple TV app on third-party devices. It fixes a problem where the Apple Vision Pro app showed a black screen. iPhone 13 models can now use carrier satellite features.

Next month, Apple will release the first beta of iOS 19 for developers. This version will bring major changes that make it different from the current versions. The update might be the largest Apple has ever released, with a redesigned Home Screen featuring transparent, glass-like effects similar to visionOS.
