Apple WWDC Teases Watch and TV Makeover

Apple prepares to show major software changes at its developer conference next week. The company plans to redesign several operating systems for Apple Watch and Apple TV devices. Mark Gurman reports that watchOS 12 and tvOS 19 will receive significant visual updates alongside iOS 19. Apple wants to create a consistent design across all its products and services. The tech giant hopes these changes will break away from recent design stagnation.

iOS 19 will bring circular app icons and improved artificial intelligence features to iPhones. Apple also plans to change how the Home Screen looks and works for users. The company draws design ideas from its Vision Pro headset software, VisionOS. Transparent glass effects from the headset will appear across other Apple operating systems. Navigation menus and app icons will also receive fresh designs throughout the software lineup.

Apple TV software has stayed mostly the same compared to other Apple products over recent years. The company wants to modernize tvOS with new visual elements that match its other devices. WWDC artwork already shows transparent design elements that hint at upcoming software changes. Apple works to unify how all its software platforms look and feel. Users can expect similar design themes across iPhones, Apple Watches, and Apple TV boxes.
