Apple's iOS 26 takes search and call features from Google

Apple releases the first public beta version of iOS 26 after completing four developer cycles. Users can download the update on compatible iPhone devices to experience major system changes. The company warns that the beta contains bugs and recommends installation on secondary devices rather than primary phones.

The Liquid Glass interface represents Apple's most significant visual overhaul in recent years. This design element creates translucent effects that reflect and refract light based on underlying content. The glass-like appearance spans throughout applications, Control Center, and notification systems.

Camera functionality receives substantial improvements with streamlined mode selection displaying only Photo and Video options. Visual Intelligence gains Circle to Search capabilities that mirror Google's implementation. The Phone app adds Call Screening and Hold For Me features borrowed from Android systems. Photos introduces Spatial Scene technology that generates three-dimensional wallpapers using depth information and artificial intelligence processing.
