Are Chimombe and Mpofu just the tip of the iceberg?

Seeing this whole case with Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu play out makes me wonder. How many other government tenders have been given out like this? These guys were caught because they were so obvious about it, barely delivering any goats. But what about other deals?

What if someone else got a tender with fake documents but was smart enough to deliver just enough of the product to not get noticed? This Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu scandal feels like it could be just one example of a much bigger problem. Do you think this conviction will change anything? Or will it be business as usual for everyone else once these two are sentenced?

I think you, and everyone else on this forum, already know the answer to that. Of course they are. This case with Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu is just the one that got caught. And why? Because they were incredibly sloppy. They took a huge amount of money and delivered almost nothing. It was so blatant that the government had no choice but to prosecute them. But what about the other tenders? What about the deals where the person was smarter?

Maybe they faked the documents, but actually delivered 70% of the product. They still stole 30%, but no one will ever check. This scandal with Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu exposes a system that is wide open to abuse. It shows that our procurement systems are a joke. So yes, this is just the tip...
