Army, chiefs plot rural takeover in Chikomba

Traditional leaders and Zimbabwe National Army officials gathered Friday at Chief Nyoka's residence in Chikomba District for Mashonaland East Provincial Chiefs' Day. The ceremony highlighted cooperation between chiefs and military forces in promoting rural development and food security. Major General Augustine Chipwere expressed the army's appreciation for partnerships with traditional authorities that foster national peace. Community members attended the event, which strengthened bonds between civilian and military leadership.

Chiefs discussed collaborative work on the Zunde RaMambo agricultural program with the support of the army. Provincial Minister Advocate Itayi Ndudzo praised the partnership's role in advancing regional development. Chief Nechombo detailed joint efforts between traditional leadership and military personnel on community initiatives. Traditional leaders received agricultural inputs during the commemoration to support farming programs.
