Arsenal stretch lead with dominant win at Burnley

Arsenal maintained their strong position atop the Premier League standings with a dominant performance against Burnley, securing their ninth straight win across all competitions. The Gunners netted twice through Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice to claim their fifth consecutive league victory and establish a seven-point cushion at the summit, though several rivals have matches in hand.

Mikel Arteta's squad proved too powerful for Burnley despite the hosts entering with consecutive wins and a reputation for defensive resilience. Arsenal's prowess from dead-ball situations continued as Gyokeres converted from a short distance after Rice delivered a corner kick. Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka made a spectacular one-handed stop to deny Bukayo Saka, while Leandro Trossard saw his attempt cleared away at the goal line. Rice then doubled the advantage before halftime, directing a header past Dubravka after receiving Trossard's lofted pass.

The second half saw Burnley generate more possession and threaten when Florentino Luis headed wide from proximity. Marcus Edwards struck the upright with a free kick in the final moments, but Arsenal otherwise cruised through the afternoon. The victory marked their eighth triumph in 10 league matches this campaign, while Burnley dropped to 17th place, sitting four points above relegation.
