Asante Kotoko rally to beat Hearts of Oak 2-1 in President's Cup

Asante Kotoko stunned their biggest rivals Hearts of Oak with a dramatic comeback victory at Accra Sports Stadium. The Porcupine Warriors snatched the 2025 President's Cup trophy after turning around a losing position. Hearts dominated early and took the lead through Hamza Issah's goal after 27 minutes. Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara made a terrible error that gave Hearts their advantage. The Phobians looked comfortable and controlled the first half completely.

Everything changed when the teams returned for the second period. Peter Amidu Acquah smashed home the equalizer just seven minutes after the restart. His shot bounced off Hearts defender Konadu Yiadom and found the back of the net. Kwame Opoku put Kotoko ahead just one minute later with a simple finish. The striker tapped the ball into an empty goal after receiving a perfect pass inside the penalty area.

Hearts thought they had scored but the referee ruled the goal offside. The team received a penalty kick that could have changed everything. Emmanuel Amankwah stepped up to take the crucial spot kick for Hearts. Camara made a brilliant save to deny the penalty and keep his team ahead. Kotoko held on for the victory and claimed their ninth President's Cup title.
