South Asian nations experienced seismic activity Sunday evening when tremors registered across multiple countries at 5:11 PM. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department identified the earthquake's source as a location 10 kilometers north-northeast of Khārupatia within India's Assam state. Officials measured the distance from the epicenter to Dhaka at 364 kilometers. The United States Geological Survey recorded the seismic event at a depth of 29 kilometers below ground level. Regional media outlets confirmed that Nepal, Myanmar, Bhutan, and China also felt the effects of the moderate earthquake.
