Authorities in Harare have arrested Tamara Tikiza and her nephew, Shepard Maisiri, after discovering three pistols hidden beneath the soil at a residential property, with investigators linking the weapons to multiple armed heists targeting Mukuru Money Transfer locations. Detectives from the CID Homicide division acted on intelligence suggesting that convicted robber Clever Chada had instructed his wife, Erinita Chingosho, to relocate the firearms, which were then moved between the two suspects' homes for safekeeping.
Officers unearthed a black plastic bag from the garden containing an AUT 6.5mm pistol, a Browning spatene depose pistol, and a patented Colt pistol during a weekend raid. Tikiza reportedly acknowledged receiving the weapons from Chingosho before transferring them to Maisiri's residence.
The pair appeared before Harare magistrate Ruth Moyo on charges of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, with no plea entered during their brief court appearance.
