Atlanta is about to host what organizers claim will be the biggest HBCU fundraiser ever thrown. The event drops at State Farm Arena and brings together rappers, gospel legends, Broadway performers and sports figures to raise cash for Black students drowning in loan debt.
Live Nation Urban teamed up with Student Freedom Initiative and the mayor to book acts ranging from Jill Scott and Earth, Wind Fire to GloRilla and Metro Boomin. Chris Paul and Angel Reese will speak about solutions, while the money goes toward creating better loan options than the predatory Parent PLUS system that crushes families.
Tickets went live through the festival website and the whole thing aims to turn a concert into actual financial relief for HBCU students getting wrecked by education costs. Robert F Smith and Kirk Franklin also join the lineup for performances and panel discussions about debt strategies.
