Bad rice sends Litein Boys on Sh200,000 rampage in Kericho

Furious students at Litein Boys secondary school went wild during a violent riot that forced authorities to shut down the institution indefinitely. The angry pupils destroyed four classrooms and smashed through the school fence after complaining about terrible food and poor living conditions. They had been served undercooked rice that sparked their rage. The teenage rioters pelted the night watchman with stones and chased him away into the darkness. Police rushed to the scene around 9 PM to stop the rampage from getting worse.

Kericho County Criminal Investigations Officer Ethaiba Mwenda confirmed the chaos and revealed that students caused damage worth more than 200,000 shillings. The officer suspects outside forces may have stirred up the trouble and promised to drag the culprits to court once caught. Investigators from the Bureti sub-county DCI team have taken over the case. Police are hunting for the watchman who escaped during the attack. Nobody got hurt during the violent outburst.

The school remains closed while authorities figure out what happens next. Students had been grumbling about welfare problems before things turned nasty. Officials believe someone may have pushed the boys to riot rather than complain through proper channels. The investigation continues as police try to identify the main troublemakers. Parents will have to wait before their children can return to classes.
