Bahamas reappoints John Rolle as central bank chief

The Bahamas is sticking with its main money guy because John A. Rolle secured a contract extension keeping him as Governor of the Central Bank until 2028. This career banker originally grabbed the wheel back in 2016 and previously worked as Financial Secretary for the Ministry of Finance. Authorities claim his leadership offers necessary consistency while the nation navigates sketchy global markets.

The veteran official climbed the ladder after joining the institution in 1990 in the research division. He briefly left to work at the International Monetary Fund as a Senior Advisor representing Caribbean interests before returning home. His resume lists economics degrees from schools in Washington and Ottawa, along with a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
