Bam boss promises to tackle Nigeria’s 16 million housing gap

BAM Projects and Properties Limited has pledged to help close Nigeria's housing shortage of approximately 16 million units by delivering homes that remain both affordable and well-built. Managing Director Mansur Mohammed made this commitment during a ceremony that transferred ownership of ExpressView Estate to buyers in Lugbe, Abuja. The development represents a partnership between the Federal Housing Authority and BAM Projects, which ranks among the country's top private real estate firms.

Mohammed emphasized that his company aims to create sustainable neighborhoods rather than simply constructing buildings. The estate features extensive landscaping and environmentally conscious design elements. BAM currently works on a 45-hectare residential complex in Karsana and has expanded into commercial and leisure properties throughout Abuja, with another residential development underway in Gwarimpa known as Chiroma's Court.

FHA Mortgage Bank Managing Director Hayatudeen Atiku Awwal praised the collaboration, noting the partners previously worked together on Karsana Estate, where they completed more than 200 homes. The ExpressView project occupies 1.5 hectares, with equal space set aside for a second phase. Head of Sales Uchenna Okonkwo reported that subscriber returns have already exceeded 100 percent and detailed plans for comprehensive facility management through FHA Energy.
