Bangladesh Ambassador Meets OIC Secretary-General, Discusses Rohingya Issue and Support for Palestine

Bangladesh's top diplomat met with the head of the Islamic group on Wednesday. Ambassador MJH Jabed visited Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha at the main office in Jeddah. The ambassador praised the successful meeting of foreign ministers that happened last month in Istanbul. He thanked the Islamic organization for putting the Rohingya crisis on their agenda. Bangladesh wants more pressure on Myanmar to send the refugees back home.

The Secretary-General promised his group would keep backing Bangladesh at the United Nations. He said the Islamic countries would support Bangladesh until the Rohingya people return safely. The ambassador asked for steady money to help Gambia fight Myanmar in the world court. He stressed that the Rohingya problem should stay part of the organization's main plan. The meeting covered ways to make Myanmar face consequences for their actions.

The Islamic leader praised Bangladeshi workers at his headquarters. Ambassador Jabed explained that opening this permanent office shows his country wants stronger ties. Bangladesh plans to work closer with all Islamic nations on politics and trade. The ambassador also talked about supporting Palestine and creating two separate states there. Several senior officials from both sides attended the important meeting.
