Bangladesh army chief targets foreign aerospace, AI technology

Military Institute of Science and Technology hosted the third International Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Applied Science from July 17 through 19. General Waker-Uz-Zaman served as chief guest during the closing ceremony and presented awards to authors of outstanding research papers. Participants traveled from the United States, United Kingdom, Brunei, Egypt, Canada, Ireland, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Australia, India, Singapore, China, and Bangladesh to share expertise. The gathering brought together academics and industry professionals to exchange knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines.

Conference sessions addressed current research in materials engineering, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, industrial internet systems, thermal engineering, aerospace technology, and robotics. Organizers emphasized topics such as aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, computational fluid dynamics, manufacturing processes, and mechatronics. Major General Md Nasim Parvez acted as Chief Patron during the opening ceremony on July 17. Officials expect this international gathering will establish lasting connections among researchers, business leaders, engineers, and students worldwide. The collaborative network aims to drive innovation and sustainable development across mechanical, manufacturing, aeronautical, and naval engineering fields while supporting Bangladesh's technological advancement.
