Bangladesh coach blames dropped catches, bad shot calls for Asia Cup exit

Bangladesh coach Phil Simmons blamed fielding errors and batting mistakes after Pakistan defeated his team by eleven runs in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Fours match. The Tigers needed only 136 runs but failed to secure victory despite reducing Pakistan to 51 for five wickets. Three missed catching chances allowed Pakistani batsmen Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Nawaz to rebuild their innings and post a defendable total.

Simmons criticized his batsmen for making poor decisions during their chase, contrasting their performance with their successful pursuit against Sri Lanka. Captain Litton Das missed his second consecutive match with a side strain injury. The coach praised bowler performances throughout the tournament and highlighted Saif Hassan as the campaign's standout positive despite elimination.
