Bangladesh federation sanctioned by the AFC for match delay tactics

The Asian Football Confederation's Ethics and Disciplinary Committee levied a USD 1,500 penalty against representatives of the Bangladesh Football Federation for regulatory violations. The punishment stems from their actions during Bangladesh's AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers Final Round encounter with Singapore on June 10, 2025. BFF officials caused the second half kickoff to commence at least two minutes behind schedule, which contravened Article 2.2 provisions within the AFC Competition Operations Manual. FIFA authorities must remit payment within thirty days following official notification, as per Article 11.3 of the FIFA Disciplinary and Ethics Code. The Committee issued warnings that subsequent infractions would trigger more severe sanctions against the Bangladesh Football Federation.
