Bangladesh forecasts rain and thunder showers across all divisions

Weather experts warn storms will hit every part of Bangladesh starting Saturday morning at 9am. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department says thunder and lightning will strike all areas for the next 24 hours. Heavy rains will soak most regions as dangerous weather moves across the country. Strong winds will blow during the downpours and make conditions worse. People should prepare for flooding and power outages as the storms arrive.

The monsoon season brings serious threats to millions of people living across eight major regions. Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet face the worst conditions with non-stop rain expected. Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh will also see major storms hitting many areas. Some places might receive extremely heavy rainfall that could cause rivers to overflow. The weather pattern stretches from India all the way to the Bay of Bengal.

A massive weather system sits over the northern part of the Bay of Bengal right next to Bangladesh. This storm system pushes more rain clouds toward the country every hour. The monsoon winds stay very active and keep bringing more moisture from the ocean. Temperatures will drop a few degrees during the day but stay about the same at night. One city already got hit with 129 millimeters of rain in just one day.
