Bangladesh has requested India repatriate former premier Sheikh Hasina and ex-home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal following their convictions by the International Crimes Tribunal. Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain confirmed the Dhaka mission in New Delhi transmitted the formal appeal to Indian external affairs authorities, marking an escalation after earlier correspondence went unanswered.
