Bangladesh marks the July uprising with nationwide tree drive, music videos, and rallies

Bangladesh will conduct nationwide tree planting ceremonies tomorrow to honor victims of the July mass uprising. Each district will plant trees matching the number of local martyrs killed during the demonstrations. The initiative forms part of the broader July Revival Programmes currently underway across the country.

Government ministries plan to release multimedia content commemorating July 19 as Mass Killing and Student-People Resistance Day. A musical video featuring the revolutionary anthem Koto Biplobi Bondhur Rokte Ranga will launch on social platforms. Officials will also distribute the fifth installment of the documentary Ekti Shaheed Paribarer Sakshya and a tribute video honoring fallen protesters. Mobile phone users will receive direct links to the commemorative materials.

A memorial rally will take place in Savar near Dhaka to remember those who died. Cinema screenings of Enforced Disappearance, Abrar Fahad, and Aynaghar Stories will occur at major venues nationwide. Social media channels operated by government departments will broadcast the remembrance activities.
