Bangladesh has pledged its backing for Qatar in the face of any challenges to the Gulf nation's territorial integrity or safety, Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain declared during weekend diplomatic discussions in Bahrain. The message came during his sit-down with Qatari State Minister for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi at the 21st Manama Dialogue, where the two officials tackled a range of shared concerns. Qatar renewed its pledge to assist with finding solutions to the Rohingya displacement situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported on Sunday.
Hossain also engaged with the head of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia to examine potential avenues for the body to take a more active part in tackling political obstacles and fostering collaboration throughout the continent. The adviser participated in multiple talks with counterparts on the sidelines of the gathering, which drew international officials and leaders to consider pressing security matters affecting the region.
