Bangladesh to face Brazil, Cameroon XI disguised as Hong Kong

Bangladesh confronts Hong Kong on Wednesday at the National Stadium in Dhaka as coach Javier Cabrera seeks to overcome a squad assembled from multiple nations. Hong Kong shares the Group C lead with Singapore on four points after defeating India 1-0 in June through substitute Mahama Awal, but Bangladesh holds home advantage in the Asian Cup qualifier.

The visitors' field players from Brazil, Bolivia, Germany, New Zealand, Cameroon, Japan, and Ukraine to create tactical flexibility. Forward Everton Camargo scored 10 goals in 19 matches since 2023, while striker Matthew Elliott contributed 11 goals across 42 appearances. Defender Fernando Augusto Azevedo Pedreira anchors the back line with 23 caps since 2022.

Bangladesh must limit space for Awal and Camargo while exploiting counter-attacks through midfielder Shamit Shome. The teams played four previous matches that produced two draws and two Hong Kong victories.
