Bangladesh urges Bahrain to reopen visa access for citizens

Bangladesh has requested that Bahrain restore entry permits for its citizens to strengthen economic ties and personal connections between the nations, Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain said during talks on Sunday. The diplomat asked Bahraini Deputy Interior Minister Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel to reinstate access for business professionals, skilled laborers, and workers with specialized training. Hossain also pressed for family reunification permits for Bangladeshis already living in the Gulf kingdom.

Al Fadhel recognized the economic value Bangladeshi residents bring to Bahrain and indicated his administration plans to gradually restore visa services. The officials explored drafting an accord that would allow convicted individuals to serve sentences in their home countries.

Hossain traveled to Manama for the 21st Manama Dialogue, where international figures gather to address security challenges. He conducted multiple diplomatic sessions alongside the conference to advance regional stability and strengthen partnerships.
