Bangladeshi man shot dead by Khasi nationals near the border

A Bangladeshi national died from gunshot wounds after allegedly entering Indian territory through a northeastern frontier zone, authorities reported. Jamal Uddin, 45, from Kandala Banglatila village in Kanaighat subdistrict, sustained fatal injuries near a betel nut farm operated by members of the Khasi community before collapsing on the Bangladesh side of the Luvachora boundary.

Villagers discovered the victim's remains late at night and alerted law enforcement. Station chief Abdul Awal stated that preliminary evidence suggests the man crossed into Indian land before being shot. Medical examiners at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital conducted postmortem procedures while investigators work to establish the complete sequence of events surrounding the cross-border fatality.
