Beatrice Zhou wants $50k from Murambinda cops over her period

Pharmacist Beatrice Zhou seeks $50,000 damages from three Criminal Investigation Department officers over alleged wrongful arrest. Detectives Tafadzwa Siwela, Pailmer Munhenga, and Constable Mariba face personal liability claims filed through Muzenda and Chitsama Attorneys on August 22, 2025. Zhou alleges officers arrested her April 23, 2025, at Murambinda Growth Point for selling supplements without permits despite displayed licenses showing she lacked control over the premises. The defendants received seven-day response deadlines after the lawsuit filing.

Zhou claims authorities denied legal representation, medical care, and food during her overnight detention. She alleges officers refused sanitary pads while she experienced menstruation, constituting inhuman treatment. Zhou demands $30,000 for rights violations and degrading conditions, $10,000 for unlawful detention, and $10,000 for malicious prosecution. The pharmacist maintains she neither sold medicines nor controlled the business operations when officers made the arrest.
