Belarus to set up bus and tractor plant in Zim

Belarus plans to open a bus and tractor plant in Zimbabwe by December, showing growing connections between both nations. The news came from Pearson Chigiji at the Joint Permanent Commission meeting in Harare. This factory will make Zimbabwe the industrial hub for Belarus products across the region.

Belarus already provides trucks, tractors, and fire equipment to Zimbabwe. Officials want to build on the friendship between President Mnangagwa and President Lukashenko. Both countries oppose sanctions, believing that diplomatic talks work better than force.

Yury Nikolaichik praised Zimbabwe for hosting the SADC Summit and for its record wheat harvest of 550,000 tonnes. He noted that Belarus has started sending equipment through its agricultural program focused on crop harvesting and storage. The meeting happens near Zimbabwe's 45th Independence Day and the 80th anniversary of World War II victory.

Officials signed agreements about political and economic ties. They emphasized the need to transform plans into real actions that benefit citizens. The countries want to explore new areas of collaboration, especially in energy projects. Zimbabwe and Belarus need to watch their progress carefully as they create benefits for both sides.
