Belize resumes US mail with new duty rules

Belizean mail is finally moving again after American tax rules froze everything last summer because the Belize Postal Service confirmed that packages heading to the United States will restart travel on January 7. Postmaster General Marsha Price explained that the Universal Postal Union Delivered Duty Paid Global Solution helps local businesses navigate Executive Order 14324 through handling customs fees before shipping. The shutdown occurred when Washington killed the duty-free de minimis threshold, which forced taxes onto every incoming parcel regardless of cost.

This new system supposedly fixes delays and prevents returned items since the updated regulations demand strict compliance. Officials claim the adjustment secures access for micro-enterprises trying to reach foreign buyers. Senders need to visit physical branches or contact customer support to figure out the updated paperwork requirements.
