The Tamale Circuit Court has ordered the immediate arrest of four men linked to a violent gun battle at the Tamale Central Market on January 28, 2025.
The suspects are accused of a shooting over a land dispute that left many people hurt. They ran away after the attack.
Faisal Alhassan (Warrant No. 01/2025), son of Gulkpenaa from Tamale, is one of the wanted men. The others are Osman Mohammed Nyohini Zaachi (Warrant No. 02/2025), Yakubu Mohammed, alias "Chairman" (Warrant No. 03/2025), and Rashid Zakaria (Warrant No. 04/2025).
Tahiru Sulemana, a fifth man, was arrested with a gunshot wound. He faces criminal charges along with the four missing suspects.
Prosecutors say Faisal Alhassan led the other suspects to shoot at traders and bystanders in the market. They were trying to hurt businessman Alhassan Fuseini over a land dispute.
The gunfire wounded Alhassan Seidu, 33, in the right leg, Eric Kofi Mensah, 30, in the right knee, and Shaibu Abdul Ganiu, 39, who was hiding under a vehicle.
