Benfica pursues Chelsea’s João Félix with 20 million euro bid in summer transfer race

Benfica has set their sights on bringing Portuguese sensation João Félix back home from Chelsea during the summer transfer scramble. The Lisbon giants see the talented forward as the perfect weapon to bolster their attacking firepower for upcoming campaigns. Félix spent last season splitting time between Chelsea and AC Milan, racking up impressive numbers across both clubs. The versatile attacker netted 10 goals while creating 3 assists during his 41 appearances between the two European powerhouses. His nomadic career has taken him through some of football's biggest stages including spells at Atlético Madrid and Barcelona.

Chelsea finds itself caught between financial reality and transfer demands as negotiations heat up with the Portuguese club. The London side demands 30 million euros for their contracted star while Benfica counters with a 20 million euro proposal. Bruno Lage backs the potential acquisition and believes Félix can transform their attack into a lethal force. Italian manager Enzo Maresca has made it crystal clear that the Portuguese international plays no part in his future Chelsea plans. The player remains under contract through 2031 but faces an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge.

The Portuguese wizard appears destined for another career move as his Chelsea chapter draws to a close. His impressive goal-scoring record demonstrates the quality that both clubs desperately want to harness for their respective ambitions.
