Benin claws back into the AFCON race with a gritty Botswana blanking

Benin finally got a win to shake up their group at the Africa Cup of Nations. A close-range finish from defender Yohan Roche gave them a one-nil victory over Botswana in Rabat, securing their first points of the tournament. The goal came in the twenty-eighth minute after captain Steve Mounie created the chance, though an earlier strike from Aiyegun Tosin was called back for offside.

The result throws Group D wide open, reigniting Benin's campaign after a tough start. The win provided a crucial morale boost, shifting momentum firmly in their favor as they chase a spot in the knockout stage.
