BFF fined again after late restart in India win

The Asian Football Confederation fined the Bangladesh Football Federation again for a late game restart. This time it was twelve hundred fifty dollars, following a home Asian Cup qualifier against India. The second half began one minute and forty-three seconds late because officials were not on the field. The AFC disciplinary committee made the ruling.

Bangladesh won that match one to zero with a first-half goal, marking their first win over India in over two decades. The All India Football Federation also got a fine for the same delay, but only one thousand dollars. Bangladesh's penalty was larger because it was a repeat offense within a set time frame. They had an identical fine months earlier for a delayed half against Singapore.

Per the AFC's rules, both federations have a month to pay up. Bangladesh's next qualifying match is against Singapore, who have already advanced from the group. Bangladesh currently sits third in their four-team standings.
