BiFilter2 Goes Free After 20 Years With Fresh Update and Fixes

Tone2 just made their BiFilter 2.5 plugin completely free after charging money for almost two decades. The company admits they can't make enough cash from selling the software anymore. They want audio producers everywhere to experience what this classic filter tool can do. The developers thanked everyone who bought their products over the years and helped fund new features. This final update marks the end of BiFilter as a paid product.

The new version 2.5 brings several improvements that make the plugin work better than before. Setup programs detect where VST plugins should go without users having to hunt around their computers. Knobs move in straight lines instead of circles when people turn them. The plugin loads much faster and shows frequency displays even when no audio plays through it. Plugin automation works properly and configuration files stay out of plugin folders.

Users don't need serial numbers anymore since the software became free for everyone. The installation package offers an optional demo of their Icarus 3 synthesizer for people who want to try more Tone2 products. Warning messages stopped appearing when people install the plugin into existing VST directories. The company fixed a crash bug that happened during parameter editing. These updates make BiFilter 2.5 more stable and easier to use than previous versions.
