Big B wonders if creativity’s window is stuck

Even legends get stuck in their own heads sometimes. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan posted a long blog entry wrestling with the modern creative process. He described a constant fear of rejection after finishing any artistic work, worrying it could be dismissed or redone. Bachchan argued that true creativity is a deeply personal act, yet it often gets forced to fit outside expectations. He focused on the idea of the "other," a simple word he feels holds immense power over how art is seen and judged.

He observed that nothing feels final or limited anymore in today's world. Any statement instantly spawns a million reactions and alternatives. This made him question if our horizons have actually grown wider or if we have just created a different kind of box, like a window that needs opening to let in fresh perspectives. The veteran actor noted a change in expression itself, where the personal "I" has been largely replaced by questions of "why," which are then constrained by context and timing. He ended his reflection without clear answers, calling the entire subject a permanent mystery and posing open questions about what, why, and who is actually mysterious in the endeavor.
