Big Three Fall Flat as Newcomers Rule League

Zimbabwe's three famous soccer teams suffered defeats during match day 13 of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League. Dynamos lost 2-1 to Ngezi Platinum Stars after leading at halftime. CAPS United fell 3-1 to defending champions Simba Bhora at Rufaro Stadium. Highlanders lost 1-0 to Herentals at Babourfields Stadium. All three traditional powerhouses struggled on the same day for the first time this season.

Dynamos sit near the bottom of the table with just one victory from 13 matches. The team has scored only four goals this season and faces the possibility of relegation. CAPS United also battles relegation fears with just two wins from their opening 13 games. Coach changes have failed to improve either team's performance. Both clubs occupy dangerous positions near the relegation zone.

Newer teams, like MWOS, lead the league standings after 13 matches without a defeat. Simba Bhora won the championship last season, despite being formed in 2008. Scottland assembled top players after starting just last year. Mining wealthy owners fund these successful clubs. The traditional giants last won titles between 2006 and 2016.
