Bintulu Hospital has issued a public warning advising residents against swimming, fishing, or participating in any recreational activities at the lake near the hospital's boundary.
The hospital cautioned that despite the calm appearance of the water and hot weather, the area is not a safe recreational spot. It highlighted hidden dangers, including deep water, sharp branches, wild or venomous animals, and unstable soil that could collapse at any time.
The lake also contains discharge effluent and wastewater from nearby drains and ditches, making it hazardous to human health.
The hospital urged the public to prioritize safety, stating, "Do not let temporary enjoyment lead to lifelong regret."
