A church leader advised recent graduates from Malosa Secondary School to show strong moral values after finishing their studies. Bishop William Mchombo from the Anglican Diocese of Upper Shire spoke during the graduation ceremony at the school in Zomba. He told students they must act as positive role models for others who will follow them. The bishop stressed that future students need to find school buildings and equipment in good condition. He wanted graduates to develop their social skills, academic knowledge and mental strength for their next life chapter.
School principal Peter Bamusi celebrated the graduating class for their hard work and proper behavior during their time at the institution. Students from this group won an English competition at the regional level earlier this year. Three members of the class earned second place rankings during practice exams for their division. Bamusi said the group demonstrated excellent discipline throughout their four years of study.
Arthur Sawasawa represented his fellow students during the ceremony and thanked teachers for their guidance. The former student leader praised educators for treating students like family members during their education. He said teachers helped students learn important values despite mistakes they made along the way. The school expects 165 graduates to take their final Malawi School Certificate of Education tests. These exams will determine which students can continue their education at higher levels.
