Blaq Diamond bailed on their Newcastle gig after their ride broke down coming from Joburg. The afro-pop pair were supposed to hit the stage at Khazins Shisanyama but had to cancel when their vehicle crapped out mid-trip, and they couldn't figure out any backup plan to get there in time despite talking with the Gagasi FM people constantly.
Their management company, Umuthi Group, put out a statement saying the musicians felt terrible about disappointing everyone who showed up expecting a performance. The group admitted they worked with the radio station and event people trying to fix the mess, but nothing panned out.
There's some good news, though, because the duo said they're putting together a free makeup concert that'll get announced later. They thanked the organizers for being understanding about the whole situation and promised they'd definitely come back to perform for their supporters in Newcastle when the show gets rescheduled.
