BNNRC leads Patuakhali showdown over web violence on women

Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication organized a community dialogue on Sunday in Patuakhali addressing technology-facilitated gender-based violence. The event formed part of BNNRC's project, which aims to strengthen resilience against digital violence while promoting technological development. The Embassy of Switzerland and Global Affairs Canada provided funding through the Nagorikata Civic Engagement Fund Programme. GFA Consulting Group offered technical assistance for the initiative.

Thirty-five participants attended from local administration, internet service providers, women-led organizations, and youth groups. Representatives came from SHUJAN, SANAK, The Hunger Project, and other civil society organizations. Media professionals and academic leaders also participated in the discussions.

Sessions explored definitions and impacts of technology-facilitated gender violence. AHM Bazlur Rahman facilitated discussions while Shuvankar Chakraborty presented regional challenges and opportunities. Rezowana Chowdhury from Patuakhali Deputy Commissioner's Office served as chief guest. The dialogue aimed to create safer digital environments through collaborative partnerships between government and civil society organizations.
