Boeing hands China its first 777 freighter since the trade war

Boeing completed delivery of the first 777 freighter aircraft to Suparna Airlines on Wednesday. The American manufacturer announced this milestone represents the initial new-build cargo plane delivered to any Chinese airline since trade disputes began between both nations. Chinese carriers currently operate nearly 60 Boeing 777 freighters across six different companies. Beijing previously suspended Boeing aircraft deliveries but relaxed these restrictions after both governments reached a temporary agreement.

US legislators recently visited Beijing and discussed potential aircraft purchase agreements with Chinese leadership during rare diplomatic meetings. Bloomberg reports suggest Boeing pursues negotiations for approximately 500 aircraft sales to China. This deal would mark a significant achievement for Boeing within the world's second-largest aviation market. Commerce Ministry spokesman He Yadong stated that American trade restrictions continue hampering normal business cooperation between the countries.
