Bola Tinubu names first female DG of Nigerian Law School

Bola Tinubu just shattered a massive glass ceiling at the law school. The president selected Dr. Olugbemisola Titilayo Odusote to run the Nigerian Law School starting mid-January. She becomes the first female boss since the place opened way back in 1962. Bayo Onanuga confirmed this huge leadership switch on Tuesday.

She takes over from Professor Isa Hayatu Chiroma, who leaves after eight years. This fresh tenure lasts four years. Odusote currently manages the Lagos Campus as Deputy Director-General. The 54-year-old legal expert brings decades of experience to the table.

Her credentials look solid with a degree from Obafemi Awolowo University. She later earned a PhD from the University of Surrey later on. Odusote started lecturing students there in 2001. She climbed the ranks through various academic departments and administrative roles over twenty-five years.

The new chief will handle strategy across every campus nationwide. She also acts as the main link between the school and major legal bodies. Her record includes a brief stint at Nottingham Trent University. This appointment definitely changes the vibe for legal education administration.
