Boni Khalwale sends bull to honor late MP Cyrus Jirongo

A senator just sent a literal bull as a tribute for a funeral. Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale honored the late former MP Cyrus Jirongo by having a live bull painted with his name and delivered to the family home in Lumakanda. A video showed the ceremony at Khalwale's compound before the animal was trucked away. The senator and his group sang traditional Luhya songs before leaving to receive Jirongo's body. The burial is set for Lumakanda.

Jirongo died after his private car hit a passenger bus head-on along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway in the early morning. He was 64. An autopsy stated blunt force trauma caused severe chest and abdomen injuries, plus damage to his spine and legs. Government and family pathologists confirmed the findings. Police are investigating the crash involving the bus from Climax Company Ltd. Detectives are looking at his movements that night, including a meeting at a bar in Karen, reviewing CCTV, and talking to bus passengers. They will send a full file to the DPP for review.
