Brad Pitt drives the APXGP team toward redemption in high-octane F1 drama

Brad Pitt stars as Sonny Hayes, a former Formula One driver who suffered a career-ending crash three decades earlier. The APXGP racing team asks Hayes to return and help them win races. Hayes partners with young driver Joshua Pearce, played by Damson Idris. The veteran racer must learn that success requires teamwork rather than individual effort. Director Joseph Kosinski brings the same excitement he created with Top Gun Maverick.

The racing scenes captivate viewers through innovative camera work. Filmmakers attached tiny IMAX cameras to actual Formula One cars during real Grand Prix events. The cameras capture every turn and provide close-up views of the action. Audiences can almost smell the burning rubber from their seats. Strategic elements of racing add depth beyond simple speed competitions.

Pitt delivers strong performances both on and off the track. His character demonstrates confidence during races and relaxed charm during quieter moments. Kerry Condon plays technical director Kate McKenna and shares good chemistry with Pitt. Javier Bardem portrays team owner Ruben Cervantes, Hayes' former teammate and friend. The relationship between Pitt and Bardem shows the comfort of long friendship.

The film follows predictable patterns and moves slowly during certain scenes. These slower moments disappoint after the intense racing sequences. Actress Simone Ashley filmed scenes that were later removed from the final version. Real Formula One drivers appear throughout the movie. Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez make appearances alongside Hamilton's role as producer.
