Yarnhub Studios, a team comprised of veterans from major game companies, is entering the games market with its first title, Brass Rain. This free-to-play World War II first-person shooter is funded by 2.9 million dollars in community crowdfunding, sourced from the studio’s substantial YouTube following. The game aims to provide a historically authentic experience with combined arms multiplayer, allowing players to engage as infantry, tank crews, and bomber gunners.
Studio leadership stated that the project was a direct response to years of audience requests for a game that expanded upon the offerings of existing titles in the genre by adding infantry combat. The developers have committed to a free-to-play model supported by what they describe as some of the lowest-cost cosmetic microtransactions in the industry.
Brass Rain is scheduled to launch in early access on Steam.
