Broke McCall says LaBelle, Blige, Keys can't sing

Singer Kevin McCall criticized several music industry veterans on the Back on Figg podcast, saying he does not believe Patti LaBelle, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Keyshia Cole, and Keith Sweat possess strong vocal abilities. He described Keys as lacking proper tone and pitch despite claiming he appreciates their music.

McCall showed his EBT card to podcast hosts and said financial difficulties stem from unpaid royalties for songs he wrote. He stated that Chris Brown owes him $25,000 for work on the track "Deuces" and that he no longer receives compensation for past contributions.

Brown appeared to respond through Instagram with a message about burned bridges and people who complain without money. The performers McCall named have not addressed his comments publicly.

The podcast episode generated widespread attention on social media, with viewers reacting to his assessments of established artists. McCall described himself as broke and struggling with basic expenses.
