Bugti orders fiscal overhaul for Balochistan projects in Quetta

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed officials to finalize Budget 2026 preparations before March during a Parliamentary Committee meeting on Public Sector Development Programme implementation. The chief minister mandated completion of all development projects valued up to Rs 650 million by February 2026. He rejected phased cost estimations and required PC-1 documents to display complete project expenses. Bugti emphasized that aligning projects with available resources would accelerate implementation timelines. The meeting addressed transparency, speed, and quality as essential elements for successful development initiatives.

Political representatives from the Pakistan Peoples Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Awami National Party, and Jamaat-e-Islami participated in the session. Bugti declared zero tolerance for mismanagement and corruption while promising strict oversight throughout all project phases. He described provincial development as a collective responsibility demanding both political unity and administrative commitment. Additional Chief Secretary of Planning and Development Zahid Saleem provided briefings to committee members. The chief minister stressed that sustainable progress requires cooperation between different political parties and government departments.
