Building under construction collapses in Ibadan, injuring two workers

A two-story building fell down during construction work Tuesday afternoon in Ibadan. The structure came down at Ruby's Court Estate near Saint Anne's School in the Molete area. Workers rushed to help people who became trapped under the fallen concrete and steel. Fire department crews arrived quickly after someone called for emergency help. Officials received the first report about the accident at 1:53 pm.

Two men were working inside the building when it suddenly collapsed around them. Rescue teams pulled both workers out alive from under the heavy debris. Emergency workers found that one man had serious wounds from the falling materials. Medical teams took the injured worker to a hospital for treatment right away. The other worker escaped without major harm.

Hon. Maroof Akinwande leads the Oyo State Fire Service and spoke about the rescue effort. He said his crews responded immediately when they learned about the emergency situation. The fire chief explained that his workers found two people trapped under the building materials. Rescue teams worked carefully to free both men from the dangerous position. Officials continue to investigate what caused the building to fall down during construction.
