Bulawayo boy drowns after saving friend from pool

A brave teen boy in Bulawayo lost his life right after saving his mate from a dangerous water hole.

• The 14-year-old drowned on March 21 near Robert Sinyoka Village.
• He jumped in to shove his slipping friend toward shallower ground.
• Makuvaza then sank before anyone could pull him back out.
• Villagers recovered the body after the kids raised the alarm nearby.

Illegal Pool Tragedy

• The pit formed from unauthorized sand digging is filled with rainwater.
• The incident struck around 1:30 pm while the group swam together.
• Police spokesperson warned guardians against letting kids near such spots.
• ZRP got notified shortly after 2 pm during the rainy period.
