Bulawayo industries surge as Second Republic policies spark manufacturing revival

Information Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere led government officials through Bulawayo's revitalized manufacturing sector during Friday's comprehensive inspection tour. The delegation examined major corporations such as Treger Group, Edgars Stores, Arenel, and Innscor Africa Limited to assess industrial recovery progress. Officials witnessed substantial capital investments driving the city's economic transformation under President Mnangagwa's leadership. Manufacturing facilities demonstrated remarkable production increases, with Carousel factory achieving 45,000 monthly units and projecting expansion to 100,000 units. The tour highlighted successful reindustrialization policies implemented by the Second Republic.

Baker's Inn showcased its $27 million expansion featuring advanced robotics and automated systems producing 245,000 daily loaves. Medical facilities received attention as the delegation toured Mpilo Central Hospital and United Bulawayo Hospitals, both benefiting from government infrastructure improvements. NUST's innovation hub demonstrated human capital development supporting Heritage Based Education initiatives. Solar installations provide reliable power to multiple institutions across the region. These developments confirm Bulawayo's restoration as Zimbabwe's manufacturing center while advancing Vision 2030 objectives.
