His opponents include Johainizamshah Johari from GRS, Mohd Saifulah Lokman representing Warisan, Mazlin Madali of Perikatan Nasional, Salahuddin Anoi from Parti Impian Sabah, and independent contender Mohd Ismail Ayob.
