Bungie opened registration for a closed technical test of Marathon scheduled for Oct. 22 through 27. The studio confirmed the extraction shooter remains in development, despite months of silence following a June delay announcement. Players must sign nondisclosure agreements to participate in the invite-only test.
The developer stated it has conducted closed tests since June, but this marks the first expansion to additional players. The test features three maps, proximity voice communication, solo matchmaking queues, and revised combat mechanics. Bungie plans to discuss the game's future after the test concludes, but the shooter still targets a March 2026 release window.
